The colourful sea life in the Red Sea, golden beaches,
guides riding leisurely camels and friendly Bedouin locals in the Sinai
Peninsula all
make Dahab an unforgettable place.
The peninsula Sinai is like a bridge and a border between
Egypt and Israel.
It`s a very diverse desert area and is very difficult to pass through
because of the gigantic and deeply fissured rock face. The magnificent
desert landscape with its goriously colorful canyon lures more and more
tourists to the area each year. The romantic oasises in the deep valleys
and the rare fish species in the coral reef on the golf of Aqaba offer
a good deal of varity.
For centuries, Catholics, Musilms and Jews alike went to the Sinai on
pilgrimage. Its interesting religous history still attracts many people
to this area.

In the north, the peninsula is flat and sandy, the mountain range in
the south reaches heights of up to 2600 meters. About 800 different
types of plants overspread the cliffs. Now and again ibex can be
seen in the south mountains. Dorcas-gazelle, variant kinds of foxes
and de sertwaranes live in the plains.
The weather is dry in the summer, which lasts from May until October.
Thanks to the low humidity, the dryness is comfortably endurable. In
the mountains, the nights are cool. There is a relatively big difference
between day-and nighttime temperatures. The desert nights are very
cold. In the Winter-between November and February-the few but heavy
rainfalls occur.
